I talked with Pastor Terry earlier this week about end of life planning and how her church helps the congregation through this process. According to her, the church has special services that help people through difficult stages in life i.e. divorce, sickness, trauma. Generally only the people who are active in the church community use these resources. People who are actively involved in spiritual practices generally have personal connections to their religious establishment.
She mentioned that when some one passes away, their wishes are not always clear. Having a service that allows some one to clearly define their wishes and send notifications in a death event is an excellent value proposition. She would be willing to test our service as a beta user as soon as we have the site up and running.
In short, having a religious section for an end of life plan is not necessary. People want to clearly define their wishes and send notifications.
